What a first appointment covers
An initial consultation runs 60 to 75 minutes, which is longer than a standard GP appointment.
For a woman coming in with hormonal or cyclical symptoms, that time usually goes in taking an extensive history. When the symptoms started and what was happening at the time. How they track against your cycle, if they do. What has already been tested, what the results said, and how long ago. Previous treatments and how you responded to them. Sleep, diet, stress and medications, because those interact with everything above.
The reason for the length is that these presentations rarely turn out to be one thing, and separating them takes a full history rather than a short appointment.
The second appointment usually reviews whatever testing came out of the first appointment so that a management plan can be devised.

Qualifications
Dr Raniga qualified in medicine at St Mary’s Hospital Medical School, London University, in 1982. She holds:
- MBBS (London)
- FACNEM, Fellow of the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine
- Member, RACGP, the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners
- AHPRA registration, checkable on the public register at ahpra.gov.au
She practises as a specialist general practitioner. Where your care calls for referral to another doctor, you will be told and referred appropriately.
Finding the practice
The practice is at 81 Showground Rd, Castle Hill NSW 2154, in The Hills Shire.
There is onsite parking at the practice. Most people drive, and it is about a five minute drive from the Castle Towers centre.
By Metro, Hills Showground is the closer of the two stations at roughly 1.1 km, about a 15 minute walk, and it is uphill on the way to the practice. Castle Hill station is roughly 1.4 km, about 18 minutes, downhill on the way and uphill coming back. Neither is a short walk, so allow the time or plan to drive.

The practice asks for 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule, particularly for initial and second consultations, because those appointments hold an hour of clinic time. Payment is by EFTPOS, Visa, Mastercard or debit card.
