Still unwell, and still without a clear answer?
Many people who see Dr Raniga have a long-term health problem that has not been explained. Tiredness that has not lifted. Gut symptoms that keep coming back. Thyroid or hormonal changes. Or several conditions at once.
Her approach starts with time: time to listen, then to go through your history, what has already been tested and what the results said, and how diet, sleep, stress and medications fit together. Then she works out a management plan with you.

Common questions
What does a functional medicine doctor do?
A functional medicine doctor looks at how different body systems, and things like diet, sleep, stress and environment, may be contributing to a health problem. Dr Raniga is a specialist GP who uses this approach alongside standard medical care, not as a replacement for it. More about functional and integrative medicine
What is an integrative GP?
A GP who uses the standard medical assessment, tests and treatment, and also looks at diet, sleep, stress, environment and lifestyle as part of your care. Some people call this a holistic GP.
Is Dr Raniga a GP?
Yes. Dr Raniga is a specialist general practitioner, registered with AHPRA in general practice. As a GP, she looks at your health as a whole rather than one organ or condition. Where your care calls for referral to another doctor, you will be told and referred appropriately.
How long is the first appointment?
An initial consultation runs 60 to 75 minutes. Most of that time goes on your history: when symptoms started, what has been tested and what the results said, previous treatments, and your sleep, diet, stress and medications.
Can I claim a Medicare rebate?
Medicare rebates may apply. The amount depends on the complexity and length of your consultation. Services Australia publishes the current schedule at servicesaustralia.gov.au.
